BRIAN J. CARTER (he/him/his, Acting, Summer film Programs Director) first fell in love with acting when he played Johnny Appleseed on a small stage in rural Ridgeway, VA at the age of seven. Many years later he has become a familiar face to TV, film, and New York area theatre audiences., Brian has appeared on some New York’s most iconic television dramas including; THE BLACKLIST; BLUE BLOODS; THE AMERICANS; JESSICA JONES; GOTHAM, PERSON OF INTEREST and of course both LAW & ORDER: SVU and LAW & ORDER. He never lost his love of making peoples laugh from his Johnny Appleseed days and has appeared on TV comedies including RUN THE WORLD, UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT, VEEP and DEADBEAT.
His most recent appearance in film was in OCEAN’S EIGHT (directed by Gary Ross and opposite Sandra Bullock). Other film credits include LOSERVILLE (opposite Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Matt McGorry and Darby Stanchfield); THE FAMILY FANG (directed by Jason Bateman); SEX, DEATH, AND BOWLING (directed Ally Walker); THE PREPPIE CONNECTION (opposite Thomas Mann); IN STEREO and SANTA CON (directed Melissa Joan Hart).
His stage career launched with the original production of the Pulitzer Prize©-winning Off-Broadway hit WIT at both MCC Theater and the Union Square Theater, which remains one of the most critically acclaimed productions in Off-Broadway history. Most recently on stage, he delighted audiences at the Cape Playhouse as Mr. Green in the well-received, knee-slapping comedy CLUE. Brian also leads a successful acting teaching and coaching program based in both New York and Connecticut. His students have booked series regular, guest star and co-star roles in several television show; numerous films; work on regional and New York stages; and have been accepted to many of the nation’s top university training programs (including New York University, UCLA, Chapman, Emerson, Pace, University of the Arts, University of Michigan, University Of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, Ithaca College, and Elon).
SAMUEL LILJA (he/him/his, Dialects) is a Juilliard trained dialects coach and actor. His most recent project was Greta Gerwig’s LITTLE WOMEN starring Saoirse Rohan, (Oscar nomination), Emma Watson and Timothée Chalamet. Past coaching credits include the films HUMOR ME, LET THE DOGS GO HOME, and THE SUNLIT NIGHT, television shows NEW AMSTERDAM, ELEMENTARY, BLINDSPOT, and MADAM SECRETARY as well as many New York Stage Productions. MATT MINNICINO (he/him) is a queer Jewish theatre-maker and teacher who writes little myths and calls them plays. He is a Jeffrey Melnick New Playwright Award and Helen Hayes Award nominee, winner of the Arts and Letters Prize, and alumnus of the Great Plains Theatre Conference, SPACE on Ryder Farm, Project Y, Primary Stages New American Writers Group, The Writers Room at The Flea, Pipeline Theatre’s PlayLab, Fresh Ground Pepper’s PlayGroup, and numerous others. He co-founded the COVID-related theatre initiative Theatre Without Theater, served as Literary Assistant for the Dramatists Guild, and is a frequent teaching artist with the American Shakespeare Center. His essays have been published by HowlRound, The Dramatist, and others. Most recently he developed a Gorky adaptation virtually at The Gate Theatre in Dublin and a version of ANNA KARENINA at Vassar’s Powerhouse Program. TOM NIEBOER (he/him/his, Writing for Stage and Screen) is a playwright from Mora, Minnesota. His plays have been produced at the Project Arts Center (GLOWWORM, 2016) the Blind Barber (THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, 2015) and the Lyric Theater (THE DODECAHEDRON, 2013). Other plays include: MINNESOTA (2020 O’Neill NPC Semifinalist), THE GOOD BROTHER (2019 O’Neill NPC Semifinalist), ‘LOSER’ and THE YOUNG FOLK. His stage work has been developed by UglyRhino, IRT Theater, Hearth Gods, Fuller Road Artist Residency, Last Match Theatre Company, The Ume Group, and the Skylight Theater Company. His play GLOWWORM was nominated for three Tiger Dublin Fringe Awards and one Irish Times Irish Theatre Award.
RYAN METCALF (he/him/his, Cinematography) is a multi-award-winning Director/DP/Editor based out of Hoboken, NJ. In the last eight years he’s directed/shot over 300 shorts spanning all genres, worked with high profile brands like Reebok, CBS, Men’s health, and Ford. He currently owns and operates a production company (REM Static) with all the facilities / equipment necessary to produce independent feature films.
JODI SCHOENBRUN CARTER (she, her, hers), Creators and the Business, Volunteer Summer Film Programs Producer) founded 1022m Managment in the fall of 2012. 1022m currently has diverse roster of management clients who work widely across TV, Film, and the legit stage. Schoenbrun Carter’s producer credits include SEX, DEATH, AND BOWLING a film by Ally Walker staring Adrian Grenier, Selma Blair, Bailey Chase, Drea de Mateo, and Mary-Lynn Rasjkub and LOSERVILLE, starring Darby Stanchfield, Matt McGorry and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. 1022m has several projects in development or preproduction for film, TV and the stage. Prior to the founding 1022m, Schoenbrun Carter led four award-winning theatres MCC Theater, Vineyard Theatre and Signature Theatre Company, and Westport Country Playhouse, alongside Artistic Directors Joanne Woodward and Annie Keefe. Schoenbrun Carter has also worked in the commercial theatre for Daryl Roth Theatrical Management most significantly with management responsibilities for Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron’s LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE. SPENCER GUALDONI (he/him/his) is an Assistant Casting Director at one of the top New York City casting offices, Tara Rubin Casting. Originally from Southern Illinois, Spencer received his BM in Musical Theater from Oklahoma City University. Spencer began his casting career in the summer of 2016 at Telsey + Company (now The Telsey Office) where he served as an intern. Post college, Spencer worked for over three years as the Executive Assistant to Broadway Director + Choreographer Jeff Calhoun. During Spencer’s time at TRC, he has had the pleasure of working on the Broadway and National Tour of Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations, Trevor, Jersey Boys, Sing Street and Les Misérables to name a few. Spencer proudly serves on Covenant House New York’s Young Professional Associate Board – a non-for-profit helping homeless youth in thirty-one cities across six countries. JULIE SHUBERT (she, her, hers) is an Emmy Award-Winner recent television projects include HIT AND RUN, FOR LIFE, MANIFEST, MINDHUNTER, JESSICA JONES, THE PUNISHER, DAREDEVIL, IRON FIST, LUKE CAGE, HOUSE OF CARDS, and BOARDWALK EMPIRE. TIMOTHY BUSFIELD (he/him/his) is a producer, director and Emmy Award-winning actor with over 650 professional credits. This fall he will reprise his THIRTYSOMETHING role Elliot Weston in the sequel THIRTYSOMETHING(ELSE). As an actor he has been a series regular or recurring character in 20 series including FOR LIFE, ALMOST FAMILY, DESIGNATED SURVIVOR, ONE DOLLAR, THE WEST WING, ENTOURAGE, SLEEPY HOLLOW, SECRETS AND LIES, ED, STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP, TRAPPER JOHN, M.D., FAMILY TIES, WITHOUT A TRACE, and THE PAPER CHASE. Timothy has appeared in over 40 television movies and feature films, including FIELD OF DREAMS, STRIPES, REVENGE OF THE NERDS, NERDS IN PARADISE, QUIZ SHOW, SNEAKERS, STRIKING DISTANCE, LITTLE BIG LEAGUE and ONE SMART FELLOW which he co-directed, co-wrote, and acted in. JUDY GOLD (she/her/hers) is a stand-up comic, writer, actor, and perennial substitute host for every talk-show ever. She won two Emmy awards for writing and producing THE ROSIE O’DONNELL SHOW and has had stand-up specials on HBO, Comedy Central and LOGO. She has written and starred in two critically acclaimed, hit Off-Broadway shows: THE JUDY SHOW – MY LIFE AS A SITCOM (Outer Critics Circle Nomination), and 25 QUESTIONS FOR A JEWISH MOTHER (GLAAD Media Award – Outstanding NY Theater, Drama Desk Nomination – Actor). KAREN KOHLHAAS (she/her/hers) is the author of THE MONOLOGUE AUDITION: A PRACTICAL GUIDE FOR ACTORS (foreword by David Mamet); HOW TO CHOOSE A MONOLOGUE FOR ANY AUDITION (2nd edition, now also available as an ebook); THE MONOLOGUE AUDITION TEACHER’S MANUAL, and the director/producer/writer of THE MONOLOGUE AUDITION VIDEO (DVD). Karen is a senior teacher in the Atlantic Acting School’s NYU undergraduate and professional conservatory programs, and since 1993 has taught her own classes, including advanced acting, monologues, cold reading/audition technique and directing. She has done extensive guest teaching in the US and internationally, for universities, acting schools, and theater companies. Karen is also a director, teacher, author and filmmaker. She is one of the founding members of New York’s Atlantic Theater Company, now celebrating their 30th anniversary. JACKI O’BRIEN (she/her/hers) is currently the first assistant director for the CBS drama BULL. A few of her other AD credits include GLEE, THE GET DOWN, SLENDEMAN, & CURSE OF CHUCKIE. Jacki started her career in theatre as a stage manager. She worked in television as a wardrobe supervisor, notably on GUIDING LIGHT and THE CBS EVENING NEWS WITH KATIE COURIC. She then moved to LA to become an assistant director, completing the DGA Training Program. Jacki is thrilled to be working as an AD back home in NYC.
JAMES SAMPLIINER (he/him/his) is a highly regarded music director, orchestrator, arranger and composer. His first high profile job was as the music director of the prestigious Williamstown Theater Festival’s late-night cabaret series. He has worked on Broadway as music director or associate music director on many shows: BKLYN: THE MUSICAL, THE WEDDING SINGER, LEGALLY BLONDE (which he also was an arranger and music director for the West End, national and international tours), HONEYMOON IN VEGAS and PRINCE OF BROADWAY. Other NYC work includes a one-night only presentation of the music from BOMBSHELL, the “fake” musical about Marilyn Monroe featured in the TV show SMASH (music by Marc Shaiman, Lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman). Off-Broadway shows he has worked on include THE MISTRESS CYCLE and GHETTO SUPERSTAR. James also has worked on new musicals at the following Regional Theaters over the last 20 years: Williamstown, LaJolla Playhouse, McCarter Theater, Westport Country Playhouse, Philadelphia Theatre Group, Long Wharf Theater, American Conservatory Theater, TheatreWorks Palo Alto, Alliance Theater, Two River Theater, Barrington Stage, Papermill Playhouse, Lyric Theater of Oklahoma and the Sundance Festival. MATT SAUNDERS (he/him/his) is a scenic designer and a creator of new performance work based in Philadelphia. Matt is a founding member, and Associate Artistic Director of the OBIE Award-Winning, experimental theatre company, New Paradise Laboratories. He has been involved in the creation of NPL’s work through both scenic design and performance. Outside of NPL, Matt has designed over one hundred shows. His designs for Theater, Opera and Dance have been seen for The Public Theater, Lincoln Center, The New Group, Signature Theatre Company, The Acting Company, Soho Rep, Ars Nova, Mark Taper Forum, The Guthrie Theater, Huntington Theatre Company, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Yale Repertory Theatre, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, The Wilma Theater, Arden Theatre Company, Pig Iron Theatre Company, and The Philadelphia Theater Company among others. Matt is a 2015 Hodder Fellow at Princeton University, a 2014 Pew Fellow, and holds an MFA in Design from the Yale School of Drama.
RICK SORDELET (he/him/his, Stage Combat) along with Christian Kelly-Sordelet is the creator of Sordelet INC, an exciting combat company bringing over thirty years of action movement experience to the entertainment industry. Rick’s credits include over 70 Broadway productions, including Disney’s THE LION KING, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, TARZAN, THE LITTLE MERMAID, and AIDA. He has served as Fight Director for 100s of Off-Broadway and regional theatre productions. He has staged fights the Metropolitan Opera, The Royal Opera House, and the LaScala in Milan, Italy; and for more than 60 first-class productions on five continents in hundreds of cities around the world including BEN HUR LIVE both in Rome and the European Tour. Stunt Coordinator Film credits include: BEN IS BACK with Lucas Hedges; THE GAME PLAN starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; DAN IN REAL LIFE starring Steve Carell and Juliette Binoche; and HAMLET starring Campbell Scott. He serves as the stunt coordinator for KEVIN CAN WAIT and previously for GUIDING LIGHT. and staged the fights for FIRST JEDI, a CD-ROM for George Lucas. Rick received the Lucille Lortel Award for Sustained Excellence in 2007. He teaches at Yale School of Drama (20+ years), The New School for Drama, and The Neighborhood Playhouse. MOLLY BARNETT (she/her/hers) honed her PR skills at DKC/O&M (formerly O&M Co), one of the industry’s leading firms, before launching grapevine pr in 2017. There, she helped spearhead more than forty campaigns for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, including the Tony Award-winning productions of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, KINKY BOOTS, BEAUTIFUL, FUN HOME, THE NORMAL HEART, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, and many more. JAMIE HARRIS (he/him/his) is the Agent in charge of Clear Talent Group’s New York office. Clear Talent Group is a full-service talent agency headquartered in Los Angeles with additional offices in New York and New Orleans with partnerships in Chicago and Atlanta. Jamie Harris has been part of the theatre and dance community of New York since 1989. He holds a B.A in Theatre Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. As an actor and dancer, he performed in numerous productions in New York City and across America including Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular, a national tour of A CHORUS LINE, the world premiere of THE RHYTHM CLUB, FUNNY GIRL: IN CONCERT ON BROADWAY well as in THE PRODUCERS movie. His choreography credits include the Asia tour of MAKING TRACKS (Assistant Choreographer), EMPTY HANDED (with the original cast of Avenue Q) and John Tartaglia’s AD-LIBERTY at Joe’s Pub. LAUREN McLAUGHLIN (she/her/hers) is an agent in the Talent House, a leading figure in the entertainment industry for over 35 years and is a member of TAMAC (Talent Agents and Managers Association of Canada). With offices in Toronto and New York, Talent House represents a prominent roster of Theatre/Musical Theatre, Film, Television, Youth, Commercial, Voice Over and Creatives talent. Most recently, Lauren’s clients can be seen on Broadway in FROZEN, MEAN GIRLS, and HAMILTON. In addition to her clients on Broadway, she often has talent featured on television (THE WALKING DEAD, RAISING DION, POSE, THE DEUCE, POWER, SUCCESSION, etc.) and in feature films. Lauren received her BA in Theatre from Boston College.
DENISE ZACK (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Counselor, registered 200-hour Yoga Teacher, and a Certified Life Coach who has spent the past 20 years at Southern CT State University and in private consulting helping others through wellness-based therapy, meditation, mindfulness and yoga.
